Afghanistan Value Chains - Livestock

The Afghanistan Value Chains - Livestock activity is a USAID/Afghanistan procurement under solicitation SOL-306-17-000069 designed to strengthen the private sector's capacity to link Afghan producers to domestic and international livestock markets. The project aims to increase productivity, commercial viability, and service delivery within livestock value chains, with a specific focus on women's empowerment and youth participation. This initiative aligns with the broader goal of developing a vibrant and prosperous agriculture sector in Afghanistan by improving market access and natural resource management. The contract is structured as a Cost-Plus Fixed Fee agreement with an estimated value between 50 million and 65 million dollars. It consists of a three-year base period and a two-year option period. Implementation requirements include the development of comprehensive security plans, adherence to strict national security screening and vetting processes to prevent the funding of prohibited parties, and compliance with U.S. Government Global Food Security Strategy and USAID Evaluation Policy. Contractors are also required to implement a compliance plan to prevent trafficking in persons and follow specific legal registration and tax exemption guidelines for operating within Afghanistan.
