Air Force Information Network (AFIN)

21st Contracting Squadron, Peterson AFB, Colorado, has awarded a modification to Task Order SX06 issued to Telos Corporation (Cage Code, 4GRJ6) against Air Force Network-Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) Contract No. FA8771-04-D-0009 to add the clause FAR 52.217-8 Option to Extend Services (Nov 1999). This clause is added under the authority of FAR 16.505(b)(2)(i)(C) as a logical follow-on to an order already issued under the contract. Also authorized and approved through this exception to fair opportunity is the extension under this clause to provide an extension period of up to four months (1 August 2013 through 30 November 2013). An Option period of one month 1 August 2013 through 31 August 2013 has been established and exercised in accordance with FAR 52.216-8. This extension allows the continued Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support for the Air Force Information Network (AFIN) while the AFIN II acquisition is competed for award. Fiscal Year 2013 Operation and Maintenance, Air Force appropriations are used to fund this effort. Attached is a redacted version of the approved Justification for Exception to Fair Opportunity for additional information. The award date for the modification to add FAR 52.217-8 is 17 July 2013, and the award date for modification22 to exercise the first option period is 24 July 2013.
