NASA Langley Research Center seeks to acquire two replacement PT6-42 aircraft engines for its B200 aircraft. The agency intends to purchase these commercial items from Pratt & Whitney Engine Services INC, as they are the original and sole manufacturer. Due to the specialized nature of the equipment, NASA has determined that seeking other sources would result in a substantial duplication of time and resources without expected cost recovery. The procurement will be conducted under FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures of FAR Part 13. While the government intends to proceed with a non-competitive award, interested organizations were invited to submit written capabilities and qualifications by February 11, 2016, for evaluation. This award notice, associated with solicitation NNL16576930Q, specifies that the place of performance is in Hampton, Virginia.
