AI Contract Overview
Offutt Air Force Base is conducting market research to identify potential sources for an autonomous aircraft washing system designed to reduce labor and supply costs associated with aircraft cleaning. This is not a solicitation for bids or an invitation to submit proposals for contract award; rather, it seeks capabilities statements and product information from vendors who believe they can meet the outlined requirements. The desired system is a semi-autonomous, fully electric robotic cleaner powered by a battery capable of sustaining a full six-hour cleaning cycle on a wide-body aircraft without recharging. It must include integrated safety sensors that instantly stop all movement and brush rotation upon proximity to or contact with the aircraft surface to prevent damage. The complete system must include a mobile robotic base unit, an adaptive wash arm with soft brush assembly, a collision-avoidance sensor suite, a wireless remote control unit, an industrial battery charging station, and comprehensive support services. These services encompass on-site installation and commissioning, operator and maintenance training, and a New Equipment Training course for six personnel. All equipment must be delivered to 1 Columbia Dr, Building 565, Offutt AFB, NE 68113, and the supplier must provide a two-year warranty. Responses, including detailed product breakdowns and capability statements, are due by August 13, 2026, and must be submitted to Casey Hupton at casey.hupton.1@us.af.mil. The NAICS code for this requirement is 333310, and no set-asides are being used.
