Full Description

The Southern California Logistics Airport Authority ("SCLAA") was created for the purpose of redeveloping the property encompassing the former George Air Force Base, which closed in the early 1990's. Originally, the Airport comprised approximately 2,200 acres of land, runways, taxiways, industrial, commercial, and residential buildings to support the needs of the Air Force. Since the creation of the SCLAA, numerous buildings have been rehabilitated or demolished to make room for modern development as the Airport shifts from military use to industrial use. Since the base closure in the early 1990's, additional land near the Airport has been acquired by the SCLAA which has significantly increased it's footprint and positioned the Airport as a major logistics and industrial hub with adequate room to grow in aeronautical and non-aeronautical ways. The Airport intends to retain a qualified consultant firm to prepare development concepts and professional visual marketing materials for Airport development opportunities. The work is conceptual and marketing-oriented; and will not require final design or construction drawing plan sets.
