AIS Engineering Services for ATE

The F-16 AIS ATE Commodities Sustainment contract is a sole-source, Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) award granted to BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration Inc. The contract provides sustainment engineering and maintenance for Automated Test Equipment (ATE) supporting F-16 Avionics Intermediate Shop (AIS) test stations, including IAIS, VXI-IAIS, and R-IAIS. This effort supports the U.S. Air Force, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, and 22 international partners. The scope of work includes technical order maintenance, software integration, obsolescence management for over 230 line replaceable units, and the repair of Government Furnished Equipment to ensure continuous mission readiness. The award is justified under FAR 6.302-1 as BAE Systems is the only responsible source with the proprietary data rights, source code, firmware, and engineering authority necessary to perform the work without risking significant operational drift or requiring a decade-long redesign. The contract features a five-year base ordering period from March 1, 2026, through February 28, 2031, with a five-year option and an additional one-year performance period, totaling a potential duration of 11 years. Performance is centered at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, with global reach to deployed F-16 AIS stations. Funding is cost-shared across various USAF, ANG, AFR, and Foreign Military Sales accounts. Key deliverables are managed via Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), covering technical manuals, software documentation, and engineering design data.
