Pursuant to FAR Part 10 (Market Research), the purpose of this notice is issued by the U.S. Coast Guard, Surface Force Logistics Center, Norfolk, VA to identify sources capable of providing the following: providing main diesel engine (MDE) technical support for the 210' & 270' Medium Endurance Cutters (WMEC). This class of ships is made up of 27 vessels having for a total of 54 engines. The vessels are scattered along the West, East, and Gulf Coast regions. This support is needed to ensure that all inspections, repairs, and scheduled maintenance events are completed in accordance with published OEM standards from Fairbanks Morse Engine (FME) and Coast Guard publications. Accomplishing work correctly the first time within a compressed schedule is critical in maintaining our aging propulsion engines in a fully mission capable status to support vessel operations. Pursuant to FAR Part 6 and FAR Part 19, competition and set-aside decisions may be based on the results of this market research. This notice in no way obligates the Government to any further action.
