This is a Sources Sought announcement only.  This notice does not constitute a solicitation or commitment by the Government.  All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary. The Government may use the responses to this Sources Sought for information and planning purposes. Responses in any form are not offers and the Government is under no obligation to award a contract as a result of this announcement.

The purpose of the sources sought synopsis is to gain knowledge of possible manufacturing sources for the NSN items listed on the attached spreadsheet, other than the currently approved source(s).  Additional possible manufacturing sources are being sought.

At this time, approved source(s) of manufacture for various items listed is ALFA LAVAL INC.

The items are procured in accordance with the manufacturer CAGE code and Part Numbers under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1).  At this time, the Agency has no data, or inadequate data, available for evaluating the acceptability of alternate products.  Therefore, a source wishing to submit an alternate product for approval will not only need to submit copies of all drawings, specifications, or other data necessary to clearly describe the characteristics and features of the alternate product being offered; but must also furnish drawings and other data covering the design, materials, etc., of the exact product currently approved, sufficient to establish that the alternate product seeking approval is equal to the current approved product.  Data submitted shall cover design, materials, performance, function, interchangeability, inspection and/or testing criteria, and other characteristics of the offered product.  Refer to DLAD 52.217-9002 for further details.

Please provide the name, location, and points of contact for any sources that are able to manufacture one or more of the items listed on the attached spreadsheet and are interested in submitting data for the approval process.  Please provide the information to the Primary Point of Contact listed.

SEE ATTACHMENT: SOURCES SOUGHT MARKET RESEARCH SPREADSHEET WITH NSNs and APPROVED SOURCE INFO.  Return directly to Kristina.Wolf@dla.mil.

DLA Weapons Support is considering a future solicitation(s), and subsequent award, of an Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC/LTC) for the item(s) on the market research spreadsheet. The resultant IQC/LTC could potentially range from 3 to 5 years in length.

If commercial, please provide documentation to support commerciality.

Spreadsheet:

Only the active NSNs listed on the spreadsheet will be priced at the time of initial contract award.  The inactive NSNs will be included in the contract but will not be priced prior to the award.  These inactive NSNs will not be activated until demands for those items materialize.  For inactive items, the technical team will review and verify sole source status at the delivery order level or as the NIINs are added on. The activation of an NSN will depend on a successful determination that the price for that NSN is fair and reasonable.
