The Naval Air Systems Command has awarded a firm fixed price sole source contract to Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions for the production and delivery of up to 54 Low Band Consolidation transmitters. These units serve as direct form and fit replacements for the current Low Band Transmitters within the AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System pods used on EA-18G aircraft. The scope of work includes the implementation of an engineering change proposal, non-recurring engineering support, spare components, and associated data to maintain vital airborne electronic attack capabilities against radar and communications targets. The contract structure consists of a base award and two options, with deliveries expected to commence in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025. Due to their role as the sole system designer and manufacturer, Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions was selected without competition under statutory authority for being the only responsible source capable of integrating the modification. This procurement follows a previous sole source contract from 2016 and falls under NAICS code 334511 for aeronautical and nautical system manufacturing.
