AI Contract Overview
The U.S. Department of Defense is conducting market research to identify qualified sources capable of performing depot-level repair on two specific NSNs—5963-01-362-9731EW (UP Converter) and 5955-01-362-4598EW (Oscillator, Frequency Selectable)—used in the AN/ALR-56M electronic warfare system deployed on F-16 C/D and C-130J aircraft. Participation is restricted to Department of Defense entities and U.S. defense contractors only, with response deadline set for July 9, 2026. Due to the absence of government-owned technical data and the determination that reverse engineering or data acquisition is uneconomical, Narda-MITEQ remains the sole known source with the necessary proprietary knowledge, configuration control, and technical rights to repair these items to required standards. Repair Method Code R3 and Suffix Code R confirm that only the original manufacturer can perform this repair, and no alternative sources are viable under current conditions. Contractors responding must demonstrate secure facilities and cleared personnel capable of handling Secret-level information, and are required to supply all materials, tools, test equipment, and services necessary to perform repairs at their own facility or that of a qualified subcontractor. All replacement parts must match or exceed the quality of the original components. The repair must satisfy form, fit, function, and interface requirements per Technical Order 12P3-2ALR56M-34, although the government will not assist in gaining access to proprietary data or rights. Responses to this market survey do not guarantee future contract opportunities, and no reimbursement will be provided for expenses incurred during submission. This effort is managed by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Robins AFB, Georgia, under solicitation number FD20602700021 and NAICS code 334111.
