AI Contract Overview
The U.S. Department of Defense is conducting market research to identify qualified sources capable of performing depot-level repair on two specific NSNs—5963-01-362-9731EW (UP Converter) and 5955-01-362-4598EW (Oscillator, Frequency Selectable)—used in the AN/ALR-56M weapon system deployed on F-16 C/D and C-130J aircraft. Participation is restricted to Department of Defense entities and U.S. defense contractors only, with a strict requirement that respondents maintain facilities and cleared personnel authorized to handle information and systems up to the Secret classification level. The repair of these components is governed by Repair Method Code R3 and Repair Method Suffix Code R, indicating that only the original equipment manufacturer, Narda-MITEQ, possesses the proprietary technical data, configuration control, and manufacturing know-how necessary to perform authorized repairs, and the government does not own or have access to the rights or data to enable competition. Reverse engineering or acquiring the data is deemed uneconomical, making Narda-MITEQ the sole known source for these repairs. Contractors responding to this market research must be prepared to furnish all materials, tools, test equipment, and support services required to perform repairs to specification, ensuring that any replacement parts meet or exceed the quality of the original components. They are also responsible for maintaining, calibrating, and operating all necessary equipment at their own facility or through qualified subcontractors. While responses may inform future procurement decisions, participation in this survey does not guarantee inclusion in any future solicitations or contract awards, and respondents bear all costs associated with their submission. The requirement is tied to ongoing depot maintenance support at Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex in Georgia, with technical compliance mandated by Technical Order 12P3-2ALR56M-34. The solicitation, identified as FD20602700021, closes on July 9, 2026, and is managed by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center under NAICS code 334111.
