AI Contract Overview
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Louisville District has issued a solicitation for the construction of a microgrid system at the Anniston Army Depot in Alabama, specifically set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs). The project entails the installation of a microgrid with full islanding capability to enhance energy resiliency by integrating new and existing generation assets with specified substations, thereby ensuring continuous power supply to critical loads during outages through automated energy control and load shedding of non-critical loads. The contract will be awarded as a firm fixed price through a Best Value Trade-Off evaluation process, with proposals due by June 29, 2026. Participation in this procurement requires adherence to strict cybersecurity standards, including an active System for Award Management (SAM) registration and a current BASIC confidence level in the Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS). Contractors must also meet the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 requirement to handle Federal Contract Information or Controlled Unclassified Information. A site visit is scheduled for June 3, 2026, at the Anniston facility, and interested vendors must register by May 20, 2026. Access to restricted solicitation documents is controlled and requires submission of specific company information for verification of cybersecurity credentials prior to release. The project aims to align with current and emerging facility control and distribution system standards to support mission-critical operations.
