Announcement of Name Change

The Department of State has officially changed the name of its Office of the Procurement Executive within the Bureau of Administration from A/OPE to Global Acquisition (A/GA). This change reflects a shift from an office named after a single individual to a broader identity that represents the entire team involved in acquisition activities. Under the leadership of the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Acquisition and Senior Procurement Executive, A/GA provides department-wide leadership over procurement and federal assistance efforts that support the State Department’s global mission. The new name emphasizes the office’s comprehensive role in managing a wide range of acquisition needs, spanning technology, training, digital assets, diplomatic pouches, and embassy operations worldwide. The rebranding is primarily a change in name and visual identity, with stakeholders expected to see updated logos and branding on websites, documents, and templates in the near future.
