The contract involves an annual service project for maintaining navigational aids and dock floats in Essex, Connecticut, with a total estimated value between $50,000 and $150,000. The scope of work includes the removal, storage, inspection, and reporting of necessary repairs for various navigational aids, including anchorage buoys, channel markers, and floats at designated locations such as Town Dock, Mack Lane, and Town Park. The project requires the contractor to identify repairs needed but does not include the costs for repairs themselves. The aids to be serviced encompass ten anchorage buoys from Main Anchorage (excluding C), two from Meadows Anchorage, two Rocks buoys, and additional navigational markers in North, South, and Middle Coves. The floats at key locations, including the Town Dock and ramps at Mack Lane and Town Park, are also part of the maintenance scope, with a note that if a new float at Mack Lane is installed, it does not need to be removed during winter. The bidding process is open from September 12 to September 24, 2025, with a pre-bid Q&A period from September 15 to 22, 2025. The contract is managed by the Town of Essex, part of the Connecticut state agency, with Maria Lucarelli serving as the primary contact. The project emphasizes the importance of timely removal, inspection, and reinstallation of the aids to ensure navigational safety in the area. The contract specifies FOB destination delivery and invites all qualified vendors to submit proposals through the designated portal, with detailed documentation available for review.
