The Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation is seeking a qualified supplier to provide specialist Emergency Response Team services for the Lucas Heights Service Area. The scope of work includes emergency medical response, fire and bushfire preparedness, hazardous materials and dangerous goods response, and general operational incident support. The successful provider must demonstrate high operational capability, workforce flexibility, and a strong commitment to safety, security, and sustainability to support an all-hazards emergency management framework. Prospective suppliers are invited to an online industry briefing on November 4, 2026, to learn about the procurement strategy and the requirements for accessing the Request for Tender documentation. Because of the sensitive nature of the operations, access to tender documents is restricted and requires the completion of a Registration of Interest, the execution of a Confidentiality Deed, and agreement to the Conditions of Tender. This registration process serves as a confidentiality gateway rather than a competitive shortlisting stage.

The successful supplier will be expected to demonstrate strong operational capability, workforce flexibility and sustainability, emergency response expertise, effective training and competency management arrangements, and a commitment to continuous improvement while supporting ANSTO’s core values of safety, security and sustainability. The industry briefing will provide prospective suppliers with an overview of the upcoming procurement process, including Registration of Interest (ROI), Confidentiality Deed and Conditions of Tender requirements, and the steps required to access the RFT documentation. The ROI is an information-access/confidentiality gateway rather than a competitive shortlisting stage. The briefing will cover: ANSTO and its operational environment; ANSTO’s emergency response environment and the role of the ERT; The ERT opportunity and high-level service requirements; The proposed procurement strategy and approach to market; The Registration of Interest (ROI) process; The requirement to execute ANSTO’s Confidentiality Deed and agree to the applicable Conditions of Tender documentation; The process for accessing the RFT documentation; Indicative procurement and evaluation timeframes; Probity requirements and communication protocols; and The anticipated evaluation and contract award process. Given the nature of ANSTO’s operations and the information that may be included in the tender documentation, access to the RFT documentation will be restricted. Suppliers must complete the ROI process and execute the required Confidentiality Deed and agree to the applicable Conditions of Tender documentation before access is provided. The industry briefing will be held online via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 4 November 2026 at 1:00 pm AEDT (Sydney time). Connection details will be provided to registered attendees before the event. Interested suppliers are encouraged to attend to understand the procurement approach, registration requirements, confidentiality obligations and steps required to participate in the upcoming tender process. The briefing will include a question-and-answer session. Questions requiring further consideration may be taken on notice, with responses provided to participants where appropriate
