AP Social Studies Curriculum Adoption: AP United States History

Mesa Public Schools is soliciting proposals for the adoption of comprehensive core instructional resources for AP United States History. The objective is to implement a rigorous program that aligns with the College Board AP Course and Exam Description and Arizona Social Studies Standards to develop disciplinary knowledge and critical thinking skills. The district is seeking proposals for both digital-only and combined digital and physical product options, with pricing requested for five-year and seven-year terms. Proposals must be submitted electronically via the OpenGov portal by November 10, 2026. The award process follows a two-phase evaluation. In the first phase, vendors must meet non-negotiable criteria, including alignment with Arizona standards, College Board AP requirements, and the provision of a digital component; failure to meet any of these results in immediate elimination. Qualified submissions then undergo a weighted evaluation focusing on instructional supports and accessibility (15%), assessment and performance (15%), and cost-effectiveness (10%). The contract includes strict compliance requirements, including adherence to FERPA, COPPA, and various Arizona state statutes. All direct services must be performed within the United States. Payment terms are net thirty days following the delivery of goods and the submission of a detailed invoice. The district maintains the right to inspect materials at the contractor's facilities and requires a one-year warranty ensuring materials are fit for purpose and meet industry quality standards. Shipments are to be F.O.B. destination with freight prepaid by the supplier.
