The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Notice to identify qualified companies capable of manufacturing or legitimately obtaining the Armor Set, Supplemental, identified by National Stock Number 1560-017122802, Part Number 80381100, and Weapon System Designator Code 11F. This notice is purely informational and does not constitute a solicitation, request for proposal, or binding commitment from the government; no funds are available for response preparation, and submissions are entirely voluntary. Interested parties who wish to be considered as an approved source must submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) package through the DLA Aviation SAR Program, which requires comprehensive technical documentation proving the ability to produce the item to the same or higher quality standard as the currently approved supply. The SAR submission process is strictly electronic via the DoD SAFE file transfer system, initiated by emailing dlaavnsmallbus@dla.mil with the subject “request a SAR drop off” and including the company’s CAGE code, the NSN, and the recipient email address. SARs for items without an open solicitation must be sent to the DLA Aviation SAR Program Office in Richmond, Virginia, while those tied to active solicitations should be directed to the specified buyer. The review process can exceed 180 days, and submissions may be declined if the item is already fully competitive, if demand is too low to justify processing, or if the technical data fails to demonstrate equivalence or superiority. The response deadline for this notice is June 9, 2026, and all correspondence should be directed to Amber Wells, Contracting Specialist, at amber.wells@dla.mil or 445-737-7014. The procurement is governed under NAICS code 336413 and falls under the Department of Defense, with no contract value or pricing information available due to the preliminary nature of this market research effort.
