As part of a comprehensive planning process, the City of Arroyo Grande (City) proposes to adopt an updated Arroyo Grande General Plan. The General Plan Update would serve as a long-term framework for future growth, reflect issues identified from community input and changes in State law, and update all elements of the General Plan, including the Land Use Element, Natural and Cultural Resources Element, Safety Element, Noise Element, Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Element, Circulation Element, Economic Development Element, and Health and Equity Element. The General Plan Update would include, but is not limited to, revisions to policies, narratives, data, and figures to reflect the new buildout period through 2050. The General Plan Update would also identify specific areas--referred to as Focus Areas, including the East Grand Corridor, North Fair Oaks, Frederick--as having the potential to accommodate growth and development through 2050. The General Plan Update would also include updates to the existing noise contours and an update to the City's 2013 Climate Action Plan. The Development Code would also be amended in concurrence with the General Plan Update to ensure consistency with the Arroyo Grande General Plan.
