The contract involves a phased construction and installation of portables at Arvin High School, with a detailed schedule prioritizing B14-20 first, followed by B8-13, and then B1-B7, while the completion of B21 to B35 depends on project sequencing. The contractor must adhere to strict timelines outlined in the construction schedule, accounting for overtime and crew adjustments to stay on track, with the possibility of working on multiple phases simultaneously. Prior to commencement, the district will ensure all portables are connected to temporary power, communications, and fire alarm systems, and the contractor is responsible for removing existing data cabling and turning over all audiovisual, IDF, and fire alarm components to the district. Coordination with district teams for system shutdowns, startup, and occupancy-related work is essential, with all occupancy scopes to be completed during the summer schedule, including furniture removal and installation. The contractor is required to conduct thorough underground utility surveys using ground penetrating radar and other methods before trenching begins, ensuring all existing utilities, including a high-voltage solar conduit, are identified and protected. All trenching, conduit installation, backfilling, grounding, and wiring must conform to contract documents, with special attention to existing underground utilities from previous portables. The contractor must coordinate with other trades, such as concrete work, to facilitate schedule efficiency. Additionally, the contractor will provide and install fire alarm systems and data/communications wiring within the portables, IDF, and associated terminations, ensuring all wiring is concealed within walls or ceilings. Pre-construction meetings with district representatives responsible for fire alarm and data systems are mandatory before procurement. The project, valued between $500,000 and $1,500,000, is managed by the Kern High School District in California, with primary contact Lisa Jacobs available for coordination.
