AT960 Laser Tracker

NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) has a requirement for the following: - AT960-MR Absolute Tracker, T-Probe III, and T-Mac Active Target System NASA GRC intends to purchase the requirements from Hexagon Metrology, Inc. at 48443 Alpha Drive, Suite 100 Wixom, MI 48393. NASA GRC requires a laser tracker system with 6-degree of freedom target tracking for real-time calibration of antenna metrology systems. Hexagon Metrology has pioneered the development of laser tracker machines. Hexagon is the original manufacturer and this information is proprietary to them. The laser tracker system must be compatible with existing robotics equipment at GRC. This sets the critical requirement that the laser tracking system must be of 6-degree of freedom. Replacement of existing robotics is currently not in the best interest of the Government. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures in Far Part 13. The Sole Source is under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)1. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30p.m. EST on 8/14/2017. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
