The Global Air Traffic Operations/Mobility, Command and Control Systems Program Office (GATO MC2 SPO) at Hanscom AFB issued a Request for Information (RFI) for the replacement of legacy Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCALS) scheduled for calendar years 2008 to 2010. This RFI targets a range of existing precision approach and navigation systems, including Fixed and Mobile TACAN units, Fixed Base Precision Approach Radar, relocatable PAR, and various Instrument Landing System components such as localizer and glideslope stations. The government seeks detailed product information and rough order of magnitude pricing for systems that fulfill specified technical requirements like a tailored course width minimum of 3.2 degrees for the Localizer and various configuration options for glideslope systems. Responses are requested within 10 business days and should clarify business size classification and proprietary data status. The RFI is solely for internal budgeting and planning purposes, with no promise of contract award or reimbursement for submission costs. The requested systems encompass all essential electronics, antennas, cabling, warranties, spare parts, manuals, test equipment, factory acceptance testing, installation, integration, shipping, and training. Interested parties are instructed to direct communications to the contracting officer, Mr. John Abisamra, at ESC/GAK, Hanscom AFB. This RFI is not a solicitation or request for proposal but a fact-finding initiative intended to gather information on available solutions to modernize and replace outdated ATCALS infrastructure.
