Atlantic Avenue Property Acquisition Project

The proposed project consists of the acquisition of a 0.93-acre parcel located at 6975 Atlantic Avenue (APN 7101-017-020) along the east bank of the Lower Los Angeles River within the Fourth Supervisorial District. The property has direct frontage on the river and is adjacent to the existing 72nd Street Equestrian Park. The site was historically used as a horse stable rental facility and will be acquired to preserve the land for future public park and recreational purposes. No development, construction, or change in use beyond land acquisition is proposed at this time. Prior to acquisition, the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation completed technical evaluations, including a land analysis, appraisal, title review, and Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, to confirm the property’s suitability for public ownership. The acquisition will be conducted in accordance with Government Code section 25350 and applicable notice requirements. Any future park development would be subject to separate environmental review under CEQA once a project scope is defined.
