The period of performance is one year from issuance of notice to proceed. ----------------------------------------------------------- The following text appeared in the notice dated 18 MAY 2011 ----------------------------------------------------------- This is a pre-solicitation notice. The Forest Service contemplates issuing a solicitation for the Auke Recreation Area Road Culvery Rehabilitation project (sol. no. AG-0116-S-11-0101) on or after Monday, June 6, 2011, using this FedBizOpps website. Proposals will be due thirty or so days after release of the solicitation, and contract award is anticipated within sixty days after receipt of proposals. A set-aside for HUBZone small business concerns is anticipated, but all interested concerns may download the solicitation. A concern who believes the best interest of the Government will be served by a different approach (for example, a total small business set-aside or full and open competition) should share its thoughts with the contracting officer as soon as practicable after the posting of this pre-solicitation notice but before the release of the solicitation. This project is for the rehabilitation of up to twenty-one existing cross-drain culverts through the installation of high-density-polyethylene (HDPE) pipe and appurtenances as culvert liners with the Auke Recreation Area. The project includes preparing culverts to receive liners, grouting, cleaning and shaping of uphill ditches, placing riprap at culvert inlets and outlets, grading the existing road shoulder and parking area with D1 aggregate, re-seeding, and so forth. The estimated price range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The culverts sizes are as follows: nine 18-inch culverts between 46 feet and 70 feet in length, eleven 24-inch culverts between 50 and 86 feet in length, and one 60-inch culvert at 102 feet in length. The HPDE liners shall meet or exceed product specifications and installation requirements to those of the Snap-Tite(R) product line. The period of performance is anticipated at 120 days from issuance of notice to proceed. An organized site visit is not contemplated; however, interested concerns are free to visit the site at any time to ascertain the nature and location of the work and general and local conditions which could affect the work or its cost. Interested concerns should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time to stay up-to-date on any amendments or other information that might be provided here.
