The Aurora Ave North Pedestrian Bridge seismic retrofit project is located at the intersection of Aurora Ave North and North 102nd Street in Seattle, Washington. The scope involves strengthening the bridge's superstructure through section bolstering and the application of CFRP reinforcement, as well as separating the ramp and staircase from the main span. The project includes constructing new lightweight fill and wall support systems for the ramp and footing support for the staircase, installing new expansion joints at the ramps, and modifying existing handrails to accommodate these changes. The estimated construction cost ranges from $1.9 million to $2.1 million. Notably, there is no scheduled pre-bid site inspection or meeting, and bidders are expected to adhere to the city's inclusion plan, which emphasizes a 4 percent WMBE utilization rate based on past projects. Bidders must also demonstrate compliance with paid sick and safe time requirements prior to award, and questions regarding the project must be submitted via email at least three business days before the bid deadline. The project is managed by the Seattle Department of Transportation under solicitation number 2023-060, with a response deadline of February 14, 2024.
