Full Description

The Office of Naval Research (ONR) is interested in understanding the available technology and configuration options that address the need for an automated critical care system in support of Navy and Marine Corps expeditionary warfare. The purpose of this RFI is to inform ONR of technologies and concepts relevant to this capability so that it can advise the Marine Corps and the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command of available options and determine what technology development investments might be appropriate. The vision of the warfighter is to have a man-portable system that has both decision-assist (DA) and fully automated capabilities with manual override. The DA mode will provide treatment recommendations that can either be accepted or rejected by the care-giver. The system in the fully automated mode must consistently monitor and adjust treatment to the individual patient's condition without user input. The technology must be independent of transport mode and enable CASEVAC by current air platforms (CH46 & CH53, and MV22) and sea platforms (e.g., high speed vessel) and proposed air platforms (airship, pilotless UAV).
