The Naval Supply Systems Command at Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville plans to award a sole source contract to Dematic Corporation for upgrading the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) conveyor system. This upgrade involves replacing the entire conveyor system with new components, excluding the conveyor scales, ensuring full compatibility and equal or improved performance relative to the current system. The project covers six conveyors, power distribution, safety systems, and associated controls. Key elements such as the operating software, crane design, and proprietary computer code ("Golden Code") are exclusive to Dematic personnel, underscoring the rationale for the sole source procurement. The ASRS operates as an integrated system combining hardware, software, and Warehouse Management Software to manage robotic stacker retrieval machines and other automated material handling tasks within a storage warehouse framework. The system interfaces with Navy and Department of Defense logistics applications to provide real-time control and updates. The contract applies under the NAICS code 333924, which pertains to industrial truck and stacker machinery manufacturing. Interested parties must submit written responses supported by clear evidence of their capability to meet the contract requirements; phone inquiries are not accepted. The award will be strictly made to Dematic Corporation based on their proprietary ownership of critical system components and integrated technology.

The Naval Supply (NAVSUP) Systems Command, Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville (FLCJ), FL intends to issue a sole source award utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures for Commercial Items to Dematic Corporation for the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) Conveyor Upgrade. The entire conveyor system is to be replaced with new components excluding the conveyor scales. Any new components should be 100% compatible with the existing ASRS and shall perform in a manner equal to or better than the current system. This project will address the six (6) conveyors of the ASRS, the main power distribution and safety of the system, and associated control system. The operating software, crane system design, and the underlying operating computer code (“Golden Code?) are proprietary and are only available to Dematic Corporation personnel. The current communications system that operates the ASRS consists of multiple levels of hardware and software that must all work together to accomplish a task. The ASRS system works with the corporate subsystem controller (SSC) Warehouse Management Software (WMS) and is utilized to control the robotic stacker retrieval machines, conveyor stacker units, and automated material handling functions. The SSC has been granted approval to operate in the NAVAIR Depot Maintenance System (NDMS) DON Application and Database Management System (DADMS) Automated Storage Kitting and Retrieval System (ASKRS). This is a combination computer system and automated storage facility, which together form a storage warehouse system. The application allows a full range of automated and non-automated material handling functions with real-time updates. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System Code (NAICS) that this work falls under is 333924 Industrial Truck, Tractor, Trailer, and Stacker Machinery Manufacturing, with a size standard of 750 employees. This notice of intent is for information purposes only. It is the Government’s intent to make a sole source award to Dematic Corporation for this acquisition. Phone calls will not be accepted. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence that clearly communicate the company’s ability to satisfy this requirement as outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered as an affirmative response. Responses shall be in writing and sent via email to Contract Specialist, contact@example.gov AND Contracting Officer, contact@example.gov.
