The San Francisco International Airport, acting through the City and County of San Francisco, is soliciting service providers for Aviation Support Services under solicitation SFO-LIVE-aviation-support-services. This permit allows authorized providers to perform a wide range of aircraft and airport operations, including aircraft cleaning, water and lavatory services, catering, cargo and mail handling, custodial services for ramp and terminal areas, and maintenance of aircraft, jetbridges, and baggage handling systems. To obtain a permit, providers must first be sponsored by an existing SFO airline sponsor and undergo a comprehensive onboarding process that can take four to six months. This process includes a review of proposed services, certification through the Airport Quality Standards Program, and the execution of a formal permit agreement. Operational requirements are stringent, requiring adherence to federal Transportation Security Regulations and the Airport Ground Support Equipment Safety Inspection Program. Personnel must meet specific educational and competency standards, and those operating vehicles on the airfield must possess a valid driver's license and pass required security training. The permit is contingent upon the provider maintaining comprehensive insurance coverage, including Workers' Compensation and General Liability, and providing a security deposit. Financial obligations include a monthly permit fee due on the first of each month. The permit remains in effect until revoked or terminated, with the Airport Director maintaining the right to revoke the permit upon thirty days' notice.
