AI Contract Overview
The City of Pembroke Pines intends to acquire the Axon Sky-Hero Premium Robotics Bundle through a sole-source procurement process, citing unique operational capabilities, vendor exclusivity, and existing integration with current law enforcement technologies as key justifications. The bundle includes two Sky-Hero Loki II indoor tactical drones, a Sigyn ground-throwable robot, and a Narfi infrared pole camera, along with related accessories, software, training, spare parts, and a five-year warranty. The police department emphasizes that these products offer critical features such as encrypted real-time transmission, low-light surveillance, and specialized design for confined-space tactical operations, which are not available from other providers. The procurement aligns with the department’s operational needs and ensures compatibility with existing systems from Axon, reinforcing interoperability and support. The procurement process is structured to gather responses solely for evaluating future competitive opportunities, with no immediate action required if the sole-source designation is accepted. Interested vendors can respond with documentation demonstrating their capability to meet or exceed the specified requirements by June 2, 2025. The contract is valued between $500,000 and $1,000,000, and the primary point of contact is Mark Gomes. The procurement is managed under solicitation number PD-NTSS-25-01, with the project posted on the City’s official procurement portal. The accompanying sole source letter appears incomplete, serving as a placeholder rather than a detailed justification.
