The primary objective is to mitigate supply chain risks associated with a single source of supply and ensure long-term sustainment for the B-52 fleet. Because the government does not own the technical data package, interested sources must demonstrate the capability to reverse-engineer the unit or develop form-fit-function equivalents from physical samples and technical manuals. The effort is categorized under NAICS code 334511, and the government is evaluating whether a future contract can be awarded as a total or partial Small Business Set-Aside.
