The Small Business in the Sunshine conference is a procurement opportunities event targeted at small businesses interested in government contracting, particularly those aiming to work with agencies in the Southeastern United States. Scheduled for November 17, the event will take place at the Sandestin Beach Hilton in Destin, Florida, which has recently reopened following minor hurricane damage. Attendees can register in advance by November 8 or on the day of the conference, with registration fees set at $25 in advance and $35 at the door. The conference offers participants opportunities to meet representatives from over 50 government agencies and prime contractors, along with access to training sessions covering topics like government procurement processes and resources for veteran-owned businesses. The event is co-sponsored by several organizations including Congressman Allen Boyd, Eglin Air Force Base, the Florida Procurement Technical Assistance Center, and local business development centers. This conference is designed to equip small businesses with the knowledge and connections necessary to successfully compete for federal contracts, although it is explicitly not a trade show and will not feature exhibitor booths. Interested companies can obtain further information, including registration forms, by visiting the official website, emailing the provided contact, or calling designated representatives. The event aims to enhance the capabilities of small businesses in navigating government procurement, fostering both federal and local contracting relationships.

Small Business in the Sunshine, a Small Business Procurement Opportunities Conference, will be held at the Sandestin Beach Hilton, Destin FL, on Wednesday, 17 November, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm CT. The Hilton sustained minimal damage from Hurricane Ivan and reopened in less than two weeks - so the conference is still on. The hotel has extended the reservation deadline until 8 November so if you were undecided about coming you still have time to book a room. Advance registration for the conference cuts off on 8 November but you can also register at the door. The conference is open to small businesses throughout the United States but the main focus will be for those companies wanting to do business with Government agencies in the Southeast. See the Flyer/Registration form at www.fptac.org, e-mail contact@example.gov or call +1 (555) 000-0000,x5 to request a copy. This conference is co-sponsored by Congressman Allen Boyd, Eglin AFB, Florida Procurement Technical Assistance Center, UWF Small Business Development Center, Veterans Business Outreach Center, and the FWB Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of the conference is to help small companies learn how to do business with the Federal Government and large prime contractors. You will have an opportunity to talk with representatives from over 50 government agencies (Federal, state & local) and prime contractors. You will also have an opportunity to attend training seminars on topics such as The DOD E-Mall, IRS Hints for Small Business, The Government Formal Source Selection Process, What's New for Service-Disabled Veteran Small Business, and more. This is not a Trade Show - small businesses will not have exhibits. Please check the FPTAC site for any late changes in the agenda. The registration fee is $25 in advance, or $35 the day of the conference. Additional questions can be directed to Patty Uhrig or Marcia Smith at +1 (555) 000-0000 or Laura Subel at +1 (555) 000-0000.
