The Air Force has conducted market research and identified that the Simulation and Analysis Facility (SIMAF) services support requirement falls under a small business set-aside. This involves a multiple award acquisition aimed at contractors capable of managing the full scope of Facility and Infrastructure (F&I) operations and Maintenance (O&M), as well as providing Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) support services for SIMAF customers. The specific support requirements are detailed in a prior ASC/XRA document from August 2009. At this stage, the Air Force is not requesting responses from industry but expects to release a draft request for proposal later in the summer or early fall of 2010. The solicitation, identified as FA8626-10-R-2135, includes services under the NAICS code 541712 and is intended to meet the operational needs of the ASC/XRA Simulation and Analysis Facility. Points of contact for inquiries include Nicholas L. Massey and Contracting Officer Melvin Boykins, who can be reached via email or phone. The contract’s nature signifies an opportunity for qualified small businesses with expertise in facility management and simulation support to compete for these services once the formal request for proposal is issued.
