The Base Information Transport Infrastructure (BITI) Program Office, AFLCMC/HNIB, is requesting information and feedback from industry to determine what new or emerging technologies are available to implement a Base Area Network (BAN) data network. The BAN includes both wired and wireless user devices and other end-terminals. As data traffic volumes increase, the Air Force is seeking ways to reduce initial capital expenditure and operating and support costs, eliminate security vulnerabilities, improve secure data transfer and operational efficiency, reduce energy usage, and minimize environmental impacts.
