Baseband Wombat

The Baseband Wombat contract, solicited by the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division under solicitation N6893615R0029, focuses on the identification and description of an architecture designed to meet the performance objectives of the Wombat functional block diagram. A primary component of this effort is the provision of a Capability Demonstration Test Bed hardware platform, which is intended to host third party software to demonstrate functional elements. This work includes integration testing of the hardware and software at the NAWCWD Pt. Mugu facility, utilizing hardware developed through a combination of internal research and development and previous programs for the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. The ultimate goal of the program is to determine the most effective architectures for implementing these functions across deployed airborne, ground mobile, and surface tactical platforms. Managed through the Naval Air Warfare Center in China Lake, California, the project falls under the broader scope of advanced technology development for Naval Air Warfare and Weapons. The procurement process involved detailed technical proposals covering the statement of work and project milestones, alongside comprehensive cost proposals to evaluate labor, overhead, and task-based expenditures across a base period and multiple option periods.
