AI Contract Overview
This contract covers the procurement of nonrechargeable silver chloride sealed cell batteries with a Type I classification and a non-extendable shelf life of 24 months. A total quantity of 22 packages, each containing 6 units, is required to be delivered to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Distribution San Joaquin in Tracy, California. The delivery is scheduled for 174 days from the contract award, with a required ship and original delivery date of September 10, 2026. The contract specifies strict adherence to military standards for packaging, marking, quality assurance, inspection, and shipment, including compliance with MIL-STD-129 for marking and MIL-STD-2073-1E for packaging. The contractor must follow DLA’s packaging requirements, maintain the identification of items per regulations, and comply with hazardous communication standards, especially regarding mercury content restrictions. The contract emphasizes quality control through detailed sampling and inspection procedures based on MIL-STD-1916 or ASQ H1331 methodologies, with assigned acceptance quality limits depending on the criticality of attributes. It prohibits the intentional addition of mercury except under narrowly defined functional exceptions and requires that any mercury-containing portable instruments be shockproof with secondary containment safeguards. This procurement is unrestricted in competition, incorporates tailored higher-level quality requirements, and mandates delivery and acceptance at the destination point. The contract references ANSI and military standards for batteries and marking, ensuring a critical application item suitable for defense usage, with a comprehensive supply and shipping address provided alongside contact information for the contracting office.
