AI Contract Overview
The contract pertains to the procurement of eight lead-acid wet batteries identified by NSN 6140014646037 and part number GC2-ECL-UT, classified as a commercial off-the-shelf item with a non-extendable Type I shelf life of 12 months. The batteries must comply with stringent packaging and marking standards, including MIL-STD-2073-1E for packaging, MIL-STD-129 for labeling, and DLA’s packaging requirements, with special marking code 32 indicating the Type I shelf life classification. Sampling and inspection procedures follow MIL-STD-1916 or comparable zero-based sampling plans, with acceptance criteria requiring zero non-conformances unless otherwise specified, and attributes are assigned verification levels or AQLs based on criticality. Hazardous materials regulations prohibit intentional addition of mercury or mercury-containing compounds to the batteries except where functionally essential, such as in batteries themselves, with mandatory secondary containment for any mercury-containing devices. Delivery is FOB destination within five days of contract award, with inspection and acceptance also occurring at the destination. The shipment must be sent via the fastest traceable means, excluding parcel post, to Fort Polk, Louisiana, with specific handling instructions for hazardous materials under IP025. Packaging is to be palletized per RP001, and all documentation must align with DoD unit of issue standards. The contract is issued under solicitation SPE7L7-26-T-4454 with a required delivery date of July 17, 2026, and is governed by the DLA Master List of Technical and Quality Requirements, with revisions controlled based on solicitation and award dates.
