AI Contract Overview
This fixed-price contract, issued by the DLA Weapons Support Land Supply Chain, is for the procurement of storage batteries under NSN 6140-01-616-4986. The requirement consists of two units with a delivery timeline of five days and a required delivery date of November 19, 2025. Delivery is FOB Destination, with inspection and acceptance also occurring at the destination. The items are classified as Type I with a non-extendable shelf life of 12 months, and the contractor must provide MSDS/PSDS per FED-STD-313. The batteries are designated as hazardous materials and must meet specific nonspillable criteria to be excepted from certain 49 CFR Subchapter C requirements. Key safety and packaging mandates include securing batteries in strong outer packaging per 49 CFR 173.159a, protecting terminals against short circuits, and clearly marking both the battery and outer packaging as NONSPILLABLE. Technical compliance requires adherence to MIL-STD-129 and MIL-STD-130N(1) for marking, MIL-STD-2073-1E for packaging, and RP001 for palletization. Quality assurance is governed by MIL-STD-1916 or ASQ H1331, utilizing a zero-based sampling plan for acceptance.
