AI Contract Overview
This solicitation, issued by DLA Land and Maritime, is for the procurement of 167 sealed lead-acid storage batteries (NSN 6140-01-149-4810), specifically 2V-2.5 AH D cell units. The items are designated as critical application items with a non-extendable shelf life of 12 months. Delivery is required within 20 days after receipt of order, with an original required delivery date of September 17, 2026. The shipment is FOB Origin, with both inspection and acceptance occurring at the origin. The goods are to be routed through New York Forwarding Service Inc in North Carolina for final delivery to the MNG Aviation Depot Supply in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The contract mandates strict adherence to quality and safety standards, including MIL-STD-129 for marking and MIL-STD-1916 or ASQ H1331 for sampling. Because the batteries are hazardous materials, they must comply with 49 CFR and the Hazard Communication Standard, including specific labeling for nonspillable batteries. Technical requirements are governed by the DLA Master List, and the contractor must ensure no mercury is intentionally added unless functionally required. Submissions must be made via the DIBBS system, and the procurement is subject to the Buy American Act and DFARS cybersecurity reporting requirements.
