AI Contract Overview
This contract specifies the procurement of two 12V lead acid gel cell storage batteries with a Type I shelf life of six months, non-extendable, under solicitation SPE7L7-26-Q-2124. The item is designated as a critical application for undersea systems and must comply with stringent military packaging and marking standards including MIL-STD-2073-1E and MIL-STD-129, with special marking code 32 indicating shelf life classification. Packaging and shipping must adhere to DLA’s RP001 packaging requirements and IP025 hazardous material protocols, prohibiting intentional mercury content except where functionally required in batteries, with strict containment requirements for any exceptions. Sampling and inspection are governed by MIL-STD-1916 or ASQ H1331, requiring zero non-conformances unless contractually altered, and acceptance occurs at origin under firm fixed price terms with no tolerance for quantity variance. Delivery is due 60 days after award, with shipments directed via vessel to USS Florida SSGN 728 using traceable freight methods only, excluding parcel post, and identified by specific transportation codes and routing instructions. The batteries are classified as hazardous materials requiring compliant handling, labeling, and documentation throughout the supply chain. All technical and quality requirements referenced are sourced from the DLA Master List, with revision control tied to the solicitation or award date depending on acquisition size. The contract mandates full traceability of each unit, identified by unique RDD numbers and government-provided procurement references, with delivery dates set for July 2026. The purchasing unit is the individual unit (EA), and the supplier must comply with all DoD unit of issue standards. The point of contact for inquiries is Lisa Kowalczyk at the Defense Logistics Agency, and the procurement is issued by the Department of Defense under a federal solicitation with no set-aside designation. All items must be prepared, packed, and shipped in strict accordance with the detailed prescriptive guidelines provided without deviation.
