AI Contract Overview
The contract pertains to the procurement of a lithium-ion battery storage unit with a Type I shelf life of 36 months, which is non-extendable, and requires compliance with stringent packaging, marking, and hazardous material handling standards. The item must be manufactured and packaged in accordance with MIL-STD-2073-1E and marked in compliance with MIL-STD-129, including a special marking code indicating the Type I shelf life. Sampling for quality verification follows MIL-STD-1916 or ASQ H1331 with zero non-conformances required unless otherwise stated, and all attributes are assigned verification levels or AQLs per specified criteria. The battery must not contain intentionally added mercury or mercury compounds except in functional applications explicitly permitted by NAVSEA, and any portable devices containing mercury must include a secondary containment structure. Packaging, shipping, and transportation adhere to IP025 standards for hazardous materials and must meet DLA packaging requirements, with FOB destination delivery terms and a strict 20-day delivery window. The item, identified by NSN 6140-01-497-7065 and part number 6ES7-971-1AA00-0AA0, is to be delivered in a single unit to the USS SAN ANTONIO LPD 17 at FPO AE 09587, with the delivery deadline set for January 27, 2026. The contract specifies a fixed quantity with zero variance allowed, and inspection and acceptance occur at the destination. MSDS/PSDS documentation is mandatory under FED-STD-313, and the vendor must use the DLA-authorized unit of issue. Transportation logistics are governed by DLAD procedure notes C19 and C20, and the solicitation number is SPE7L7-26-T-4669, issued by the Defense Logistics Agency under NAICS code 335910. All technical and quality requirements referenced through R and I identifiers are incorporated from the DLA Master List, and revisions in effect on the solicitation or award date control compliance. The primary point of contact for coordination is Tiffany Merritt, and the contract is subject to defense information protection policies under RD003.
