AI Contract Overview
This contract specifies the procurement of 319 battery storage units with NSN 6140-01-727-2436, sourced from TWO manufacturers: ALWAYS ON UPS SYSTEMS CANADA INC and TAIWAN YUASA BATTERY CO. LTD., both under part number 00310. The items are classified as a critical application item with a non-extendable shelf life of six months, governed by RS001 for TYPE I (CODE F) items. All units must comply with rigorous technical and quality standards referenced in the DLA Master List, including MIL-STD-1916 or comparable zero-based sampling plans, with acceptance criteria requiring zero non-conformances unless otherwise stated. Mercury or mercury-containing compounds are strictly prohibited except in functional applications such as batteries, fluorescent lights, sensors, weapon systems, or specified chemical reagents, with portable mercury-containing devices requiring shockproof construction and secondary containment per NAVSEA 5100-003D. Packaging, marking, and shipping must adhere to MIL-STD-2073-1E and MIL-STD-129, with palletization following DLA packaging requirements and no special marking. The entire shipment is to be delivered FOB destination within 20 days of contract award, with no variance allowed in quantity. Inspection and acceptance occur at the destination, and shipment must occur via the fastest traceable means—parcel post is explicitly forbidden. The delivery address is the Naval Base in Norfolk, Virginia, with detailed packaging codes and container specifications provided. The contract includes strict compliance with hazardous materials handling under IP025 and requires all documentation and labeling to reflect government-specific codes and identifiers. The required delivery date is July 29, 2026, and the unit price is $319.00 per unit, with total contract value based on the full quantity.
