BDZ, Inc. is seeking a commercial cannabis cultivation license for a project located in Lompoc, Santa Barbara County, California. The scope of work involves outdoor cannabis cultivation on up to 40 acres utilizing 12-foot high hoop structures, with a limit of three harvests per year, each lasting a maximum of four weeks. All cultivation activities must maintain a minimum setback of 50 feet from property lines. The project is designated as exempt from further California Environmental Quality Act review under CEQA Guidelines Section 15183, as it remains consistent with local zoning and the Santa Barbara County Cannabis Land Use Ordinance and Licensing Program. The site infrastructure includes a 1,201 square foot farm employee dwelling and a 255 square foot concrete patio. Proposed additions to the site consist of a 120 square foot guard shack, seven 320 square foot shipping containers for equipment and fertilizer storage, twenty-four 5,000 gallon fertigation tanks, and a 30,000 square foot staging area for loading. Additionally, an existing on-site generator will be repurposed as an emergency backup. There will be no processing activities conducted on-site.
