The contract involves the procurement of cylindrical roller bearings identified by NSN 3110-00-426-7933, which are configuration controlled and critical safety items used in various military aircraft including the Hercules C-130 series, Galaxy C-5, and Patriot missile systems. These bearings must comply with a specific quality assurance plan (QAP 13873 QAP-B03, Amendment B) and come from approved suppliers Sikorsky Aircraft Corp and McGill Manufacturing. The procurement is governed by strict quality and safety standards due to the flight safety critical designation of these components. The contract is structured as a Long Term Indefinite Quantity Contract with a base year plus four option years, each 12 months in duration. Minimum and maximum order quantities are set at 20 and 36 units respectively, with an estimated annual demand of 36 units and a contract maximum of 72 units per year. The solicitation will be unrestricted but other than full and open competition and will not include reverse auction clauses. The Department of Defense Acquisition Regulations concerning domestic source restrictions apply. The Request for Proposal was scheduled for release on December 29, 2011, and solicitations are accessible exclusively online via the DIBBS web portal in PDF format. Contract awards will be based on a combination of price, past performance, and other evaluation factors outlined in the RFP. Key acquisition contacts include Acquisition Specialists DeVora J.
