BEARING, ROLLER, TAPERED

This contract is for the procurement of five tapered roller bearings identified by NSN 3110-00-135-7205 and part number AA59649-566, Revision C dated 08/10/2021, classified as a commercial item with an exception to the commercial item description requiring Class 2 tolerances instead of Class 4. The item is designated as a critical application component and must conform to the basic commercial item specification A-A-59649C, incorporating mandatory technical and quality requirements from the DLA Master List, including RQ001 for tailored higher-level quality requirements and RQ009 for inspection and acceptance at origin. All bearings must be manufactured in the United States, its outlying areas, or Canada, with more than 50 percent of the total cost of components—rolling elements, retainer, inner race, or outer race—originating from these regions per DFARS 252.225-7016 and the Restriction on Acquisition of Ball and Roller Bearings clause. Contractors must submit a completed Declaration on the Domestic/Foreign Nature of Materials, obtainable from the DLA Foreign Bearing website, and failure to provide this will disqualify the proposal. The contract imposes strict packaging, preservation, and marking requirements in accordance with MIL-STD-2073-1E, MIL-DTL-197M, and MIL-STD-129. Preservation methods and protective compounds must be selected based on bearing type and closure as defined in MIL-DTL-197M, with explicit prohibition against the intentional addition of mercury or mercury-containing compounds to the bearing or its packaging, except for functional use in batteries, fluorescent lights, instruments, sensors, controls, weapon systems, or NAVSEA-specified chemical reagents; portable mercury-containing devices must feature shockproof construction and a second containment barrier. Marking must include all human-readable and machine-readable elements per MIL-STD-129, including special marking codes, and palletization must align with DLA Packaging Requirement RP001. Inspection and acceptance both occur at origin, with the Government conducting verification, and no Item Unique Identification is required. The delivery schedule requires shipment FOB origin within 171 days after order, with zero quantity variance permitted.
