Z- NORTON II ATV TRAIL CONST. on the Butte Ranger District of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. Project Location: The Norton ATV Trail Project is located southwest of Butte, MT (T2N, R9W). To get to this project: take I-15 south from Butte towards Dillon; take the Silver Bow Exit #119 and head west; turn right at the only major junction approximately 4 miles from the exit; continue on this road to a sign declaring the Fleecer Wildlife Management Area; drive to the bottom of this hill and park near a small pond; the trail continues off to your left though a barbed wire fence. Description of Work: This project will reroute approximately 1.5 miles and reconstruct 0.5 miles of Norton Trail No. 95 from the terminus of Norton I to the forest boundary with the Fleecer Wildlife Management area. The trail would be constructed to accommodate ATV use (50 inches) to be consistent with other Norton trail segments on either side of this segment and other motorized trails in the Fleecer Mountain Range. Magnitude of Construction is between $25,000 and $100,000 Period of Performance is from August 15th thru October 31, 2011. No site visit is planned.
