Bed in Bag Bio-Preferred

DESCRIPTION: Contracting Office: Department of the Air Force, Air Force Life Cycle Management, PKOB, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, 45433. Notice of Intent to Award Sole source contract to: Valley Forge Fabrics, Inc to provide Bed-in-a-Bag, USDA Bio-Preferred for WPAFB Dormitories. Intention: Award a Firm Fixed Price order for the above mentioned items directly with Valley Forge Fabrics, Inc. The decision to go sole source is because Valley Forge Fabrics, Inc is the only known source that customizes the Bed-in-a-Bag components to our specific needs and only known vendor that can provide custom size comforters required to fit our oversized beds in the dormitories. Valley Forge Fabrics, Inc is also the only vendor providing Bio-Preferred products at this time. Use of Bio-Preferred materials was directed by the Deputy Secretary of Defense in a memorandum dated 11 June 2010. Interested sources may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement within 24 hours after date of publication of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, and no solicitation is available. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Ms. Janet Miller, ASC/AQM, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, 45433, has been appointed as Ombudsman to hear concerns from offerors, or potential offerors, during the proposal development. The purpose of the Ombudsman is to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. Existence of the Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program director or the contracting officer. Accordingly, the Ombudsman does not participate in the preparation of solicitations, the evaluation of proposals or the source selection process and, therefore, for routine matters on individual solicitations, please contact the buyer at the telephone number listed herein.
