Department of Water Resources (DWR) Dam Safety Services staff will perform valve and gate exercises at the Bethany Forebay Dam (BFD). The BFD outlet works houses a butterfly valve (BFV) and a conduit in a tunnel between the valve chamber and downstream portal structure. The BFV and slide gate associated with the low-level outlet shall be exercised by fully opening and closing. To avoid a sudden release of water to the drainage ditch, the conduit between both valves will require controlled low flow release of water, limited to 10 CFS. The entire project is within the DWR right of way.
