Full Description

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS SHA-65556-R1, pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602 to Bethel Church as represented by Jon Cook. The Project is limited to the extension of a water line along Twin Tower Drive in Redding. Beginning at the existing water main at the intersection of Hollow Lane and Twin Tower Drive, the 16-inch diameter water line would run in a northerly direction for 2,055 feet until it ties into the water main near Hendrika Way. The water line will intersect two intermittent streams, and will be trenched through the streams to connect to the water main. Additionally, a gravel access road would be installed in three sections totaling 1,600 feet in length. A 12-foot-wide corridor of rock slope protection (RSP) would be installed where the water line crosses two intermittent streams. The RSP would match the existing grade of these streams. Approximately 15 trees will be removed to accommodate project-related activities. Incidental vegetation trimming could occur to provide access. As part of the proposed mitigation, revegetation will occur to mitigate the impacts to riparian vegetation. Installation of the RSP would result in 0.021 acres (906 square feet across 24 feet of stream length) of permanent impacts to intermittent streams in the Project area. Mitigation credits have been purchased from Stillwater Plains Mitigation Bank to mitigate for the permanent impacts to the streams. Additionally, up to 0.014 acres (~610 square feet across eight feet of stream length) of the intermittent streams could be temporarily impacted during construction. To mitigate for temporary impacts revegetation will occur on site with a native seed palette.
