The City of Ames, Iowa (City) is seeking proposals from interested Service Contractors for a three-year Biosolid Disposal Operation contract. Contractors are invited to submit demonstrated competence and qualifications for providing these services.
Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals will be received until 2:00 p.m. CST on June 5, 2025, in AmesBids at amesbids.ionwave.net or delivered to City of Ames, Purchasing Attn: Procurement Specialist, 515 Clark Ave, Ames, IA 50010, City of Ames Contract No. 2025-166. Must be a registered supplier to submit a proposal in AmesBids.
All work shall be in accordance with the specifications now available on AmesBids at amesbids.ionwave.net or on file in the Purchasing office of Ames, Iowa, which, by this reference are made a part hereof, as though fully set out and incorporated herein.

The general nature of the work of which proposals are requested is a Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) Three-Year Biosolids Disposal Operation Contract. Contract period to July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026 with two (2) one year renewals. No Contractor may withdraw their proposal for at least sixty days after the scheduled closing time for receiving proposals.
The prices quoted herein are exclusive of all taxes such as sales and use taxes. The City of Ames is exempt from the following taxes: State of Iowa Sales and Use Taxes by Certificate No. 85-499, and Manufacturer’s Federal Excise Tax by Registration No. A-102678.
After award of contract, work on this contract shall substantially completed no later than June 30, 2026.
By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provision grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes.
The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
