AI Contract Overview
This contract pertains to the procurement of cooling blankets designed for hyperthermia treatment, identified by NSN 6532-01-653-6054. Each blanket is constructed from Polar Skin mini-mesh material saturated with Arcticaqua, which activates in response to elevated body temperature to provide evaporative cooling. The blankets measure 36 inches by 30 inches, weigh 0.6 pounds each, and are individually packaged in rugged, durable foil pouches that prevent air and moisture transfer. The packaging must adhere to commercial standards as specified, with sealed unit containers and appropriate exterior shipping containers to ensure protection during transportation and acceptance by carriers at the lowest cost to the specified delivery point. Items must be marked according to Medical Marking Standard No. 1, superseding MIL-STD-129, with relevant guidance available through the Defense Logistics Agency. The contract stipulates a shelf life of 60 months that is non-extendable, with no more than nine months elapsed between manufacturing and delivery date to the government. Quantity ordered is 10 units, with delivery expected within 20 days after date of order to Anniston, Alabama. Acquisition is managed by the Department of Defense through the Medical Supply Chain FSH office, with technical and quality requirements governed by the DLA Master List. Government identification must be removed from non-accepted supplies per contract terms. The solicitation and award processes follow applicable DLA procedures, emphasizing compliance with packaging and technical standards to ensure quality and operational readiness.
