The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Pacific plans to establish Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) for supplying a full line of fresh fruits and vegetables to various Department of Defense entities and USDA-supported schools across several Hawaiian islands, including Oahu, Hawaii, Maui, Kauai, Molokai, and Lanai. The contract will be divided into eight distinct lots, each representing different locations or categories of recipients, such as military ships and submarines, land-based troops, galleys, child development centers, exchanges, hotels, and various school districts. Estimated annual values for these lots range from $14,000 for Molokai and Lanai schools up to $885,000 for Oahu land-based troops and affiliated facilities, indicating a targeted approach to meet specific regional demands. Each lot will be evaluated independently and awarded as a single BPA for a one-year period, with an anticipated start date before October 2010. The agreements are set aside exclusively for small businesses, fostering competitive opportunities under the Small Business Administration's guidelines. Interested and qualified vendors are invited to submit quotes, which will be duly considered by the government. The solicitation is expected to be issued around September 10, 2010, and will be accessible online for download and review.
