AI Contract Overview
The Utah Air National Guard is conducting market research through a Sources Sought notice for a physical and visual safeguarding system to protect the backup generator at Building 210 on Roland R. Wright Air National Guard Base in Salt Lake City, Utah. The objective is to identify qualified firms capable of designing, delivering, and installing a protective system capable of withstanding unmanned aircraft systems up to 20 pounds in weight or 50-pound kinetic payloads while ensuring uninterrupted generator operation. The system must maintain proper airflow and cooling, allow for routine maintenance access, be constructed from UV-resistant, moisture-resistant, rust-resistant, and fire-retardant materials with a minimum five-year service life, and endure wind gusts up to 110 mph. The design must also fit precisely within the site’s spatial constraints as detailed in the attached Statement of Objectives and site map. Optionally favored enhancements include rapid deployment by a team of four within four hours, visual and sensor camouflage, low lifecycle maintenance, and modular repairability. Respondents must be U.S.-based, able to access military installations, and registered in the System for Award Management. All submissions must address the five required elements: solution overview aligned with minimum requirements, incorporation of innovative features, past project experience, installation feasibility under site limitations, and confirmation of entity eligibility and location. The solicitation number is W50S9A-26-S-A012, and responses are due by 12:00 PM MDT on Thursday, July 2, 2026, submitted exclusively via email to the designated contracting officer and specialist. This notice does not constitute a solicitation or binding commitment; responses are voluntary and will not be reimbursed or individually acknowledged. The information gathered will inform the Government’s decision on whether to proceed with a future full and open competition, a small business set-aside, or a specific socioeconomic program such as 8(a), HUBZone, SDVO, or WOSB. The North American Industry Classification System code is 332618, with a small business size standard of 500 employees, and proposers are requested to self-certify their size and socioeconomic status. No contract clauses, evaluation factors, pricing data, or packaging specifications are included at this pre-solicitation stage, as this action is strictly for market research to determine procurement strategy and industry capability. The Government retains full discretion over whether a solicitation will be issued and what form it will take.
